God's answer to prayer: Thanks a lot for praying.........NICOLE came home for Christmas and is in remission, pray she will turn to the Lord, she will need radio therapy and will loose her saliva glands permanently, BUT GOD! Dear Lord, please can the need for radio therapy be un-necessary, give Nicole an appetite for good body building food. Thank you Father God!

God answered prayer for V in SWEDEN, her husband returned to her and the children after finding he could not live without them, thank you Father God......Pray they will turn to God and be able to reconnect as a family unit. (The family is God's idea and prescious to him).

Update Hazel Pinto: Thank you your prayers. She is fine and recovered. One of the rainbow member spoke to her yesterday. She was happy and going to the university as scheduled in October. Continue to pray for her full recovery. Praise God.

Prayer request:- I have received news that the daughter of a man of God (five-year-old Irene) may have just weeks to live, after cancer re-appeared following an all clear signal two years ago, the return we are told is rather aggressive and not treatable. I do however believe that the effectual and fervent prayers of the righteous works wonders, and therefore will appreciate you saying a short prayer of healing for Irene and her family today, thank you.

A few extra pointers for prayer at this busy time of year:

Advent Course: Give thanks for a good start last Tuesday: several of those who are attending have expressed a desire to be baptised.

Weather: please pray for those prisoners who have been recently released and those preparing for local release in this cold weather: many struggle to find suitable accomodation.

Sussex Pathways: pray for the mentors and staff who work with prisoners before and after release, especially Shirl as she prepares to take on Abi's role as Volunteer Coordinator temporarily while Abi is away on Maternity Leave in March 2011. A more general update: the work continues to go well. Prisoners and staff in HMP Lewes have heard positive feedback about the mentors' work, and demand for mentors continues to grow. We are currently training a group of 14 volunteers, so our capacity will soon increase again

Pray for the Carol Service next Monday evening, with Bishop Wallace Benn giving the address.

Pray for the Angel Tree project, which supplies Christmas presents to prisoners' children: donors have been so generous that we need more prisoners who want to bless their children.

Could you please pray for my cousin brother,Sabu, who lived with us on the same block when we were living in Bombay. Sabu was a civil contractor in Bombay and is now working in Saudi Arabai for the last 6 years. He has two daughters the elder daughter is in year 10 and the younger duaghter is year 5. All of a sudden he came back from Saudi Arabia last week because of his illness. He is now admitted in Kerela Hospital and the doctors have found out that he has the first stage of throat cancer. Doctors have suggested thirty cousres of radiations now fifteen cousres have been completed. I spoke to him today and told him not be afraid and not to lose faith in the Lord. His family depend on his income to live. So I ask you prayer partners to pray for Sabu's complete recovery.

Billy, Lee and Michael at Lewes prison gave their lives to Jesus today, and we will be baptising them next Tuesday, our last session before October, Amen.

We had a group of 12 attend our after Alpha session, we looked at "Being guided by God"
The prisoners were so attentive, and asked loads of questions, they all want to thank you for your prayers!
Special prayers needed for :-

Lee, who said since Alpha, he has been praying, and reading his bible, but he cannot sense God. I have prayed with him, and he, every night before sleep this coming week, is going to ask Jesus into his life, please lets pray he receives the Lord and hears from him Matthew 7 verse 7, Amen. (He has attended every session so far)

For Mark, who says he can pray for his cell mates and his enemies but in his words "not the screws" i.e guards. His mother has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Please pray for Nikki who is under going heart surgery on Tuesday the 8th June 2010. Ask our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to touch her and heal her completely.

Hi, we had 30 men in with us yesterday for session one, a team of 7 us to lead the sessions. MC Tempo, Ian, Paul, Glen, Helen, Avril and me. One prisoner Mark prayed that Jesus would come into his life!

Pray for Darren who is being transferred to another prison tomorrow, he said the service he came to some weeks ago when I was preaching, touched his life. He said that listening and being at Alpha, if for only one session, has helped him understand who God is, and why He sent His Son! It has now separated religion and a living faith for him, Amen.

30 Prisoners sign up for Alpha at Lewes men's prison!!!!!!!!!! Please pray God will touch their lives, begins May the 10th.

I lost my present job where I have worked for 9 years with honesty and integrity because of redundancy .

I attended a job interview last Wednesday evening but still didn’t get the result. Interview went very well, still I am positive about that job. I came to know that they are taking decision tomorrow and sending letters to every one. I may get letter by Friday. Please continue your prayers. Praise God. James.

Lewes Prison prayers,

Please pray for the Sycamore Tree course on Thursdays which is half-way through, for the Wednesday Film Club which is starting soon, and for a concert by Jeff Steinberg and team on Tuesday 27th April in the Chapel ("The Tiny Giant").

We are preparing for the next Alpha in Prisons course in two weeks' time, with a new team of volunteers led by John Goodway.

Please also continue to remember those who were transferred away from Lewes to enable the building works to commence, and their families who have longer journeys to visit. Pray for safety and security during the building works which have now begun.

And give thanks for the many prayers which are answered daily, known only to the Lord

I am in a lot of pain with arthritis. I would like to work 3 days from home but my company would prefer that I leave. I have taken legal advice and have a case of disability discrimination, but if I force the company I work for to make changes they could make my working life difficult in other ways. Please pray that God will show my very clearly the way I should go in this situation.
